One of our latest added services is designing and producing unique urban furniture products in shared spaces. We also design context-based interventions based on the specific needs and requirements of the space!

Our main goal is to activate shared spaces and bring them to life. We enjoy bringing people together, be it public space, private shared areas, outdoor workspace, or others. We provide design consulting services to activate those underused spaces for you!

How do we do it? Our approach is based on an urban placemaking design methodology, to provide context-oriented, flexible and functional urban interventions in our everyday spaces. We work from small to medium scale on reviving those underutilized spaces. We design and produce all tools that activate those spaces, from pop-up temporary and permanent urban furnitures or installations to community spaces that need context-oriented interventions to come to life. #urban #activation #placemaking #community

Where do we intervene? Simply put, we work on ‘the space between buildings’! It’s really why this project was initiated, we truly believe in the power of creating accessible and functional shared spaces.  We take empty, underutilized areas and activate them with the desired activities and functions based on the context and community. Who we are? LifetoSpaces is a design-based studio with an aim to activate our privately shared and public outdoor spaces. Our goal is to redefine the urban experience in Egypt through transforming underutilized spaces into alive and vibrant places. Do you crave spending more of your working hours outdoors? We're here to tell you it's possible! Creating workspace in the outdoor that is shaded, comfortable and productive is a possibility. There's so much underutilized open space in our city that could be activated as outdoor workspace, for study, meetings, reading, etc.. this culture is growing (and needed) in Cairo and we need to provide room for it in our shared spaces. Our [Innovate] urban intervention creates room for working outdoors. With charging stations, a shading element (tree canopy or other) and two different seating modalities, you can pick a spot to work quietly or have a casual meeting outdoors. The pandemic has really proven that people are able to work and study from anywhere. It has really changed the dynamic of workspace. Thanks to technology, it is now more accepting and quite normal to take your laptop and work from anywhere, so how about we do that in the outdoor! The [Innovate] outdoor workspace is designed to fit in a limited area - could be a public street or alleyway, park, university campus, by the beach, outdoor commercial space and many other urban spaces that need activation for work and study purposes. It comes with different variations in look, width and length depending on the context. From design to reality! There is a long thinking process before a design comes to life. So much thought is put into form, function, material, durability etc.. That said, we believe the equation for urban spaces is actually very simple: space + people = vibrant place. The added value of creating place is incredible.  At LifetoSpaces, our goal is to create urban interventions that respond to a need and bring life to the area or neighborhood in which it is placed.
